Okay.... it's been awhile since I posted anything new by my partner and myself, so here goes....

I wrote this entire song, music and lyrics, in less than a half-hour.
I play acoustic guitar, bass, and drums on this song and sang lead vocal.
My partner, Bob, did the leads, electric rhythm guitar, and background vocals.
The acoustic guitar track (the first track laid) was done in one take..... which is unusual for me.
Bob did some awesome playing on the leads. :)
Basically, this song just fell together almost effortlessly.

PLEASE check out the lyrics and song-story, as this song is as timely as it is prophetic. It was actually recorded several months ago, before the latest rash of school-shootings.

I believe you'll hear a marked improvement over our previous recordings.

The song is called "Angel Child"

We'd REALLY appreciate your comments on this one!

Thanx guys!

Nice tune guys... The recording and everything is solid, and the leads were really nice. SOmething doesn't sound quite polished with the production, but it seems to work anyway. Not quite sure what it is... Sorry I can't help more.

I like it. :)

Nice tune. I liked the transition at 0:17 from electric to acoustic.
Great lead licks starting at ~3:00. And those short bursts of lead guitar
starting at 4:14 were extremely topical. Good one!

Muchas Gracias, guys!

We really appreciate the positive commentary. :)
We both felt we had taken a substantial leap forward with this song and also with "Doin' Nothin", our collabortion-tune with Teddie.
It's obvious that "Angel Child" carries a strong message, just like songs from the 60's and 70's "protest era".
Unfortunately, you don't hear too many songs with a message these days. It's not that people aren't writing them, it's just that commercial radio stations don't play 'em very often.

Thanx again, gentlemen! :)

I like the tune a lot. The accoustic guitar sounds sweet and the octave singing fits well. Excellent work. The guitar work is really nice too. Yeah, I like it.

Yo, Ray...

Thanx much for checking us out, glad you liked it!!!! :)

"Angel Child" is quite different from the pop-oriented songs of our first CD, "Assorted Flavors".
I guess we haven't figured out what type of music we like the best, so we try to cover a bit of everything.... uh, everything except Rap that is.
(Hey... we're two white guys, okay?) ;)
We're pretty excited about this song, though... as you can probably tell from my original post, and it's been hangin' steady in the top 40 of AAA/Adult Alternative ever since I posted it here.
So, a BIG thanx to all who have checked it out! :)

Keep the comments a-comin'....

Thanx! :)
