A Few Replies:

Ree Fungorio: Our guitarist uses the POD live and it sounds great. We play cover gigs at clubs with ~200 people. The versatility of the POD is what sold us on using it live. Since trying one out, we have NEVER used regular guitar amps since.

Hixmix: I haven't heard any noise problems even when using it for computer based recording. If in doubt, visit Guitar Satan and try it out. For the minimal bones it costs, it's hard to pass up, but when you play through it for a half an hour, it's amazing anyone passes it up!

I am a bass player and use the POD for recording only. (you gotta hear the bass tone using the British Crunch amp clean!)Obviously, when I heard they're coming out with the bass POD I...well, let's say I made a bit of a mess.

(No, I don't work for Line 6)

I Think The Hiss You Heard About Was Prob. The Amp Buzz Emulation On Certain Older Modles On The POD I Mean There Supposed To Sound Kinda Like The Amps There Emulating

Yes. Vintage amps certainly should sound vintage. Sounds like it's not really problematic.

I get plenty of noise with the totally clean setting. It just isn't much of a problem when you're using an amp emulation setting.

Sir Lee, I like your comment on amp buzz emulation! Let's get really authentic (maybe we'll win the dino's over yet). Line 6 should build in random crackles and pops from bad switches and pots; RF; the ringing tone of a tube wheezing on its dying elements; and maybe the farting of a blown speaker coil. Now that's authentic. Not to downplay the importance of appearances, beer stains, cigaret burns and shredded corners (if you can find any on a Pod) will convey the story of an amp that's been there and paid its dues.
