I'm guessing on the new Meek,
but I have a Meek SC2.2 and 3 RNCs and they're
apples and oranges.
Meek is dark, KILLER on drums,
RNC is clean, great on vocals and 2 mix.

Just my $.02,
Peace.

Carmen,

Yes, the MC2 is a re-issue of the C2, but improved, and less money!!! The C2 was $300.00, you can buy this one for $199.00 or less, and it is balanced in and out!

Yes, it is different than the RNC...Its a friggin Meek. In your face, aggressive, yet smooth and awesome. Actually, it is a real nice compliment to the RNC, because it is low cost and another flavor. So for not much money, I would think anyone that has an RNC would love to add on one of these. Still the best at what it does for vocals, and guitars when you want that sound.

I never gave up my C2's, so here is a Stereo Compressor by Joemeek for under $200.00...

Sorry to be so agressive on this one, but I personally have always loved the C2, but it was well before the RNC was a dream. The market just did not grab onto it. Now I think the users understand why they need stereo compressors, so the new MC2 does offer a great alternative, and if you have ever used the two of them at the same time, one RNC and one Meek...Its pretty awesome.

Uh, that's MC2 to you. :D Just to keep the record straight. I know what will happen on this one, and I ain't Spammin. A couple of you guys will get them, and the word will get out. At it's price everyone will want them once they know that this unit sounds almost every bit as good as the big Joemeek SC2.

Its a sleeper for sure!!!

Hey Alan!
I use a RNC after my Meek SC2.2 on my stereo drum submix
and love the sound of them both together.
Are the MC2's shipping yet?
Is $199 street or list price?
Congrats on your thing with Stephen Paul.
Peace.

So, Alan, how would you compare it to the SC2.2? And where is the "SLOPE" knob? And what is a "SLOPE" knob anyway? And how is the performance compromised by not having a "SLOPE" knob?

Slope = ratio
Here's a qoute from there website
Auto-variable slope (ratio) for optical compression/limiting. The MC2 allows a huge range of compression sounds to be achieved with effective ratios from 1.5:1 up to 14:1. The control of this ratio is automatic - making the MC2 intuitive and fun to use.

I can't say it any better than Scott did. The MC2's are in stock at my location, and on the way to Mac Midi, so e-mail them at sales@macmidimusic.com

We will also start to sell Joemeek products only direct. You might do better at a dealer, but we will sell them for $199.99

Give Mac Midi an email to get a quote.

Hey, seems they snuck in another little gem too. The VC5v2 Meequalizer Dual channel classic EQ. Unless Im mistaken this is new too.
Heres a company that doesn't need to advertise,
you hear - you buy.

Sorry Scott, the VC5 is an old plug from some time ago. That box does nto exist anymore.

Little Dog, you asked how the MC2 sounds next to the SC2.2. Well to me, the C2 sounds better. You need to hit the front end a bit hard or you get lighter compression, but the harder you hit the MC2, the better to me.

The SC2.2 has way more control, and off course I like that. Its hard to pick, but for the money, the MC2 is a bitchen little box. It will rip your face off if you want it to....

I think slamm'n the front end of any joemeek is the key. Its like good coffee. Once you've had it you don't want to go back...
