I wanna thank all of you fellas for your input on my last post!!;)

It looks like we finally are going to get a shot.....we are going to CA as soon as we do the rest of the final mastering of the latest CD. The producer we're talking to, loved the old CD and is crunk over what he has heard from the new one.

Since I know you guys will tell it like it is, I want to know how you like this tune.


 
Damn... I just took my USB soundcard up to the lab... No sounds... I really want peep this shit. No phonelines at the spot.

Anyways... GOOD LUCK on that.

Be able to break that shit down for whoever it is you gotta talk to. I went out there with a purpose but when I had this meeting the shit left me stumped by how much bullshit I had to swat down. I thought I was gonna have to hurt dudes feeling on some shit cuz his ass was playing around like he it's about what he wants... I (really we) had assumed a lot and it's setting me back a minute because I didn't have the full plan laid out to back dude down whenever he came out his ass with some shit. Words don't always do it... Especially when tyou aren't sure if a cat is just saying shit to throw you... Now I can't get cats to communicate properly with each other cuz one thinks we are for some bullshit (not really but that's how he's trying to play it) and the other party thinks dude is on some bullshit. Could've squashed all that having my facts and details better organized.

I wasn't feeling the first part of the song. It picks up after hook/chorus. The dude with the rough voice makes the hook catchy. I could be wrong but the beat changes up after the first verse. The beat sounds better once the change up occurs. It's just my opinion though. Nice club song though.

i don't know how deep ya'll is into the stripclub thang but i know down south if u talk 2 a couple strippers get em to request that song from the d.j.
after u hollered at the d.j. of course your shit will gain momentum quickly. in cali the strip club circuit is kind of weak. buut where u at and in miami that fire will spread to the club.
i liked dog as u can tell. it just make me feel like i'm in the south gettin a lap dance.

p.m. me before u go to cali and i'll try to shoot u a couple of numbers that could be useful

remember i liked that on this same booty ass computer
so i know i felt that.

i wasn't feeling their earlier stuff you had on the net, but this song has more energy is better produced and their delivery is fitting it like a glove. i have to agree with chalin on his comments.
i listened to it for a second time and the 1st verse sounded more appealing.i'm about to listen to it for the third time:D. the joint has a lot of potential, and i like the way that they marketed on some cali slang in there. pretty smart move, when in rome doing as the romans do can be very benificial, but in most cases doing the opposite can yeild greater results. i have a couple of club songs, but then who from the south doesn't.

one comment on the 1st verse, since he's opening the song up he has the hard part. he has to set the energy. i'm a nobody, but i feel that he needs to redo the whole 1st verse, everything that comes out of his mouth should make a motherf*&^(& say damn tonight is going to be a good night. the third verse has that type of energy to me, you can switch places with the second and first . i'm not trying to speak from an engineerers perspective(i can't even if i wanted to fake it), but from the perspective of someone on the dance floor getting served by a lisa ray type shorty with this song playing(now i am a pro at that)btw, i have listened to this song for the 5th time now, so you must be doing something right and you can just forget what the hell i'm talking about.:cool:

I feel ya! I am sincerely hoping that some of you guys that have got it done, can give us some tips on how to prepare; and you know in the back of my mind I'm wondering if this guys is full of shit and is looking for some music for groups he already represents. Let me ask you this.....should we take him the whole CD or just a demo of say six songs?

Hears a laugh for you....as I said in the last thread we printed 1000 copies of the first CD and couldn't sell shit. We uploaded the CD on a free website and have already had 13,000 downloads :D :D

The brother singing the verse your talking is new to the group, I like his voice and think he will fit in on song the others can't pull off.

Hell, you don't have to be an expert to give your opinion....we'll certainly try it and see how it sounds. I know for us to really get out there, we have to try all kind of things and be willing to listen to ideas from other people. If we knew everything, you'd already know who we are ;)

Hey Musac!! I wasn't kidding before when I said we needed some good advice and you certainly helped us with the Cali tip!!

As we get the details straight for our trip, I'll certainly hit you up! If you ever get to the ATL, you need to let us return the favor!
 
I just a chance to peep the song... I'm digging the shit no doubt. Definitely a good one to work at the skripper places. I got a idea or you that i'll put in a pm... Mos def run this one by the DJ's... Shit will do you some good with the weather turning nice and all.

As as far as what to shoot to ole dude... I go by 2 conflicting rules on this type stuff.

1) Don't be seen until it's time to rock

And...

2) Put that shit out there.

In this case it's kinda how much you trust dude... I'd go out there with a 4 song disc consisting of your hotest shit (that you are willing to let dude hold), the whole run chopped off, and the whole shit. When I say chopped I mean a minute and a half of the best parts of the songs... A teaser or something... I wouldn't give him the whole shit though only if dudes talking about something then let him hear it while you are present. This way you'll never have to think back on damn I shouldn't gave his ass that shit or damn I should've banged the whole shit. Over prepare... Feel me? Shits a bad feeling knowing you could've but just didn't.

Good lookin out!!

We are going to try the record stores again like you mentioned and this time we'll go out of our immediate area. I've talked to some of the bigger DJs in ATL and it really comes down to paying them to get airtime. Do you think it is worth it?

Oh believe me, we plan on having the whole dog and pony show, I just didn't want to look like the newbie I am.
