In production of an internet talk "Radio" program / 1 hour / Bass Fishing

Considering putting a room in the garage for the recording of the program, since I will not be recording instruments I don’t feel this room needs to be "FULL BORE", yet dialed in to some degree.

Room 8 x 12 x 8
2 current walls (8' and 12') are chipboard these will be over laid with drywall

1 new wall (12') will be OSB Sheathing (I like the look)

1 new wall (8') will be drywall and have a pre-hung interior door

Floor is cement want to raise this up 6" and use particle board underlayment - sealed and throw rugs

Ceiling will be OSB sheathing

6 inset can lights / baseboard heater / 3 - 2 place outlets

Once finished acoustic foam / ceiling diffusers will be placed in room

Table and chairs that seat 4, a wall mounted TV …

Thoughts / ideas / advice / suggestions appreciated …..

Just a thought here but if you're just doing spoken word, why not look into buying (or DIY) a reflection filter and just do your vocals there?

Well, I have a co-host and each week, one or two guests will be on the show ... So I need the "Room"

Can the foam - Can the drywall if you can... Stud, fill the space with OC703 or Roxul Safe n Sound and cover with cloth (something fishy if you'd like). That's a small acoustic nightmare. But if you trap the crap out of it, it'll probably do fine with speech.

Did some research ... Solid idea ...

I only have two walls I can do this with one at 8' and one at 12' and maybe the cieling ....

leaving two walls as dryway ...

Thoughts?

Agree with Roxul and OC703

Here is a DIY video for making OC703 Acoustic Panels/Bass Traps, and Corner Traps.

This is a video from person above but a Control Room Build instead that has a lot of good info.

Here is one of my favorite Ethan Winer videos that may help, at least in part.

Consider doing double layered dry wall with the second layer attached to the first with Green Glue.
Interior Noise | Green Glue

Also consider using a Solid Wood Door.
