Squier Telecaster Custom
I bought a made by Fender Telecaster in 1970. Back then, it was mostly thought of as a country/western guitar. It was nice. Like a typical young, dummy, I got the hots for something else and traded it in. Mistake!
Three decades and some change later, I wanted something with a nice
Fender maple neck and a couple of humbucking pickups. I looked around at Fender's offerings, but didn't want to spend that much money. I stumbled upon an ad for
the Squier Telecaster Custom, thought it over and ordered it. I could always send it back if I didn't like it, right?
I love this guitar! I can't say it long or loud enough. Finally, after all of these years, I found a guitar that I truly love. If you haven't tried one of these, give it a go somewhere. You need to get your hands on one of these.
I'm retired. While I'm not rich, I can pretty much afford to buy any guitar that I want. I didn't expect much after reading people's squawks about Squier. I am astounded at this guitar. The neck is perfection. The tone of the two humbuckers is not at all what I expected. It's better. Maybe mine is a freak, I don't know, but I'll never part with it.
I've owned Les Paul Customs (the real thing) and SG Specials (also the real thing). Neither had the brass balls sound of this
Squier Telecaster Custom.
If you are looking for a traditional Telecaster sound, do not buy this guitar. If you are looking for something that is capable of making a Strat sound a bit wimpy, this is the axe.
My amps are
a Behringer GX212 and
a Pignose G60VR. The Pignose is the amp that makes this axe shine, while the Behringer gives it a good semi-acoustic type of presence that is nice too.
Did I mention that it is beautiful too? Yup!
