First post in a loooong time. :) Anyway, I am in the process of getting new gear to complete my setup. Ideally, I would like to have a small basement studio for recording demos and high quality recordings. For starters I am using a Yamaha 01V dumped into a Sek'd Prodif analog/digital card and a SB Live to get my tracks. Monitors are Yamaha MSP10s. I have enough mics to track multiple instruments though I am planning to add another AT4033 to my collection. I want to use 2 XT20s for tracking and a MOTU 2408 to Sonar for mixing and mastering. Main question is what should I use for a mixer(s)? It would seem convinient to add another 01V, or would it make more sense to just get a larger 8bus board like a Soundcraft Ghost, or more relistically a Mackie 32-8? Thanks for any advice.

I was using ADATs mixing through an analog 8 buss StudioMaster console into a MOTU 2408mkII to get tracks in and out of the PC. I only edit in the PC and send edited tracks back to the ADATs for mixing. Now my system is the same excepth I've replaced the ADATs with a Alesis HD24. Just my humble opinion but I prefere the sound going through an analog console and not because it has knobs. I'm perfectly happy mixing with a mouse, the console just sounds better to my ears. YMMV.

Lol, good call. ;) Let me rephrase. I would like to get a good base setup for multitracking and mixdown. :D
