Yeah, Jay-z is smart peoples for not trying to battle em or ll or dmx,etc when he called himself taking it over. Hey is there anyone else in the mainstream rap industry who is constantly evolving? Successfully? Let's forget about dre's attempt with that aftermath. Just looking at the videos you can tell that nobody is evolving. The truth is once you find the formula you stick with it. 99% of the time you know certain artist are going to rhyme a certain pattern every song- keywords i.e.
whips,six,heater, freaks
 
Yup, that's pretty much my point, and my main gripe with the whole damn scene. I mean, let's forget about the individuals not evolving, that's fine and dandy for them, they'll get paid, be succesful, make their mark, but the scene needs to evolve or else it'll just dry up and be gone. That's not really to say that people won't buy hip-hop albums, they'll buy whatever the fuck MTV tells em too, but it's just that they won't be forced to evolve with their music, which is an integral part of any *important for of music.
