In my head it sounds a little bright, and that bass could do with tightening up. But I'd like to know what others think.

I like the overall sound of it, especially because (in my experience) it can be difficult to blend the sounds of live instruments with synths. Nice flow to it, none of the parts seem to come out of nowhere like a lot of rock music tends to do ( you know, the sudden "jumps" from one part to another). I'm no professional, especially in the department of recording live instruments, so I'm not in a position to judge the audio quality, but as a listener it definitely kept me interested. Thanks!

Thx AMS. I used a lot of slopes to get the flow going. Will be adjusting the EQ of the whole mix so its less bright. Will also try to define the bass more.

Yeah it's way light in the bottom end. The "in the air tonight" fills sound kind of dumb. The rapid vocal phrasing is bad and out of time during the "rocking" parts. The vocal performance seems timid like you're scared of the mic. On the plus side, all the layers and sounds work well together. You just need to mix it all together with more balance.....and re-track the vocals.

Thx Greg :), lol never realised the fills sounded like that until you mentioned it, now I can't stop hearing it haha...Already sorting out the balance issue, and will look at the phase slopes. I can hear they need work. As for the vocals, it was the singers first recording, and he's lacking confidence a little. Gonna be working with him for a while, so this will undoubtedly improve.. (I hope :) )

Will get the guy in and retrack vocals ASAP

Appreciate the feedback.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Greg_L again. :(
