I have been on this forum for almost a year now. I see many questions dealing with "What computer should I buy?", "does this company make good computers for audio recording?", etc. Most companies build there computers based on computer games, and solutions for small business. However, these systems usually do not fit well with Audio Recording. So people always ask questions about what they should put into the compuer they are building. So as a computer reseller I decided to build computers that are well suited for Audio Recording, based on 3 years of Computer Audio Recording experience. I also wanted to give the best price/quality ratio I could.

Here is a computer i recommend for any Audio Recording Computer.

Please keep in mind that you can change any parts in this system to your budget, or personal likes. But this is what I recommend for audio recording based on my experience. Also please remember, parts may be changed to equal or greater value due to avaliability. Shipping and sales tax are not included in this price. If you live in Idaho there is a 5% sales tax. Billing options include Credit Card, Cashier Check, Money Orders, or Personal Checks. We also have a leasing program if you are interested (please contact me for more information). I am also going to include a document about optimizing your computer for audio recording (possibly a few other bonus's). I will eventually build smaller and bigger systems for different applications. Also, your personal feedback is important to me.

For information, questions, comments about the systems please contact me at

maybe i was a little too vague on my last post. i know that most of you dont have $1500 to spend like that. but i was just trying to show you what im trying to do with this. if anyone needs help building there system, and needs it for a good price with good equipment. go ahead and email me and ask me to set it up. i will be glad to help you out within your budget. also i garantee i can beat anyones quality to price ratio. i meant for this to be a solution for all you who really dont know alot about computers and dont know what to put in your system. and like many will say around here, most systems by the big companys are not well suited for audio recording, and have more use for games. if you want just the cheapest computer you can get to get you by for the moment, let me know i can work that out also. the above computer is what i recommend to work well with just about anything you need. with a few extras like the battery backup so you dont have to worry about someone trippin on the power cord and ruining your project, or a power flash of some sort. but if you dont want them, let me know.

so this is for all you who need a good system, and dont know how to build one.

tell me if this is a shiity comp

I have a compaq presarrio which has a pc 100 mother board. I was told that the max ram I could get was 512mb.. Can I build my studio efficiently off that much mem? Anither question I have is how to upgrade hard drives. right not its a 35gb hard drive but it seems that I need to upgrade that as well according to most recording programs.. Can you help

HD upgrading is easy normally. So it is a lappie??

As far as memory...I would think that for a lot of Audio Apps 1gig would be ideal , but I see a lot of folks who have 512 and do fine. Storage space is a biggie, I filled up 120 gigs in like 4 months.

I now have a terabyte on my computer and am about a 3rd through that.

I have to tell you though that when I put 1 gig on my computer it just flew..now i have 4gigs and it is mach4.

I think you can work with the 512 though..id be more concerned with the storage space..can you give me a model number for the 'puter?

512 MB RAM aren't gonna cut it, given that each software becomes bigger & bigger. I have 1 MB and sometimes I run into problems if I have a few tracks with VST reverb.

I suggest 1 MB -- better: 2 MB

What's VERY important is to buy a computer that has the option to upgrade your memory! If 2GB appear BIG today, you will run into problems a few years down the road. I would NOT buy a computer that has less than 4GB RAM upgrade option.

You guys know this thread is from 2001, right?

lol.... i started reading and was like.... 'this guy recommends a 1ghz thunderbird what the heck??'

I was very confused, thinking wow if any bites on this i gotta start my own computer company! This computer would go for abour 200$ these days.
