New, Cheap Isolation Tracking Headphones

How many sets of headphones do you have left? If you have lots and thus potentially need lots of extensions, or if you have other personal orders to place on MF, they'll give you free shipping on an order over $299. 60 extensions is $300 worth...damn that's a lot of cords!

I find that it's not worth paying extra for the 2-day shipping at MF since their regular shipping is so fast you end up getting your merchandise in 3 or 4 days! I know people are eagerly waiting though...I wish I had a better suggestion :(
 
It's not all that easy, since I hafta weigh ordering 60 headphone cables and laying out $300 to do what? Sell them for exactly what I paid for them - and pay shipping on them when I sell them as well? Not a smart business move, since I've only seen about 10 cables ordered so far.

If I can include them with headphone orders, that would help, but as I said, there haven't been any headphone orders recently. I'll have the headphones available for sale as long as I have inventory, but in order to get the cable prices down low enough to sell for $5 or $6 each and low shipping costs, I've got to invest in about $500 worth of cables, with not many orders on hand.

It's a problem for many small businesses out there. Obviously, HR specializes in people that do home recording, which often means they're just recording themselves, not a group. Those people don't need MoreMe's. So what percentage of the people here are recording groups? It's probably a pretty low percentage of the total membership at HR.

I probably should, but I haven't. It's not a great venue for advertising new stuff, and a lot of bigger studios have a lot of bucks invested in high dollar phones, so I'm not too sure of many sales there.

I wasn't too keen on even mentioning it here, but since I got the idea from comments here, I took a chance and posted an announcement, with suitable apologies for gear pimping on the forum.

I know he's left this board for a while (hopefully not for long!!!!), but does anyone know if Harvey was able to score some extensions to ship with the phones?
 
I have 4 of each type in stock, and 50 more of the 25 foot cables coming in. The 20 foot cables do not have a molded end (screw-on plastic covers on metal barrels), so they are more likely to break if someone steps on the end and cracks it. On the good side, they can be resoldered easily, but they wouldn't be my first choice for construction. They'll be $5 each if ordered and shipped with the headphones. They weigh about 6 oz.

The longer 25 foot cables have molded ends, so they are more likely to survive in a studio if someone accidently steps on the end. The construction looks very good and they're pretty heavy duty compared to the Radio Shack cords (and 5 feet longer). They'll be $6 each if ordered and shipped with the headphones. They weigh about 8 oz.

I don't know what the shipping will be by themselves; they're really too heavy (and too cheap) to justify going priority mail by themselves. Shipping will be about $2 each via airmail, although I'm looking for lower cost ways to send them.

Right now, it looks like I can do free shipping for each cord (when you order the same number of headphones at the same time), then about $1.50 shipping for each additional cord beyond the number of headphones).

So, if you buy a set of headphones, you can get the cord for $6 more. Any extra cords beyond the number of headphones will cost $7.50 more, including shipping.

It would be $20 for the headphones, $6 for the 25' cord (or $5 for the 20' cord), and $5 for shipping the whole mess 2 day Priority mail.

Grand total: either $31 (with the 25' cord) or $30 (for the cans plus the 20' cord).

Just go to paypal.com, and put the order in the comments box, so I know what to send.

Sorry about that - I haven't figured out how to work the shipping thing yet. You can just go to paypal.com and pay me direct (hargerst@airmail.net). It would be $25 for phones and shipping, plus $5 each for the 20 foot cables, or $6 each for the 25 foot cables.

Right now, I have two 20 foot cables in stock, and none expected till sometime in July. I have three 25 foot cables in stock with 50 more coming in next week.

If you just order the cables by themself, it's gonna be about $2 shipping for the first cable, and 1.50 shipping for each additional cable. They weigh about 1/2 a pound each.

Probably another $1.50 for shipping - the damn extensions weigh as much as the headphones.
