I'm starting up a project studio and I need some mics! Looking for a kick-ass bass drum mic and some SM57's primarily. If you have any other gear that a start-up studio might need (cheap decent tube pre's, etc.) feel free to post it!

I've got good rep on Hard|ocp forums/heat (http://www.heatware.com username "insanarchist") so no need to worry :p

for 57s. get Es-57s, cheap copies that are absolutely incredible. bass drum, get and rvd1

A mic!

I have a CAD e100/2 (second edition) that is unused. I had posted it for sale a few weeks ago. This mike is an excellent budget studio condenser and is commonly used for drum overheads, vocals, and acoustic instruments. I was asking $125 after price drop but make me an offer. It is in mint condition, has the factory foam lined plastic case and 2 mounts, a standard and a nylon shock mount. I'm also listed on the good guys list (but you may have to dig for it)

I have more mics than humanly possible, PM me and we'll chat.

Thanks for the offer Rich! I've already got a couple condensers though (2 x Oktava MK012's and a Shure KSM27). That's a good deal though! I'm surprised nobody's snatched that one up yet.

dont mind him. i think that's his whole setup and he's trying to show you what will work, since he's a pro.

and are those 57 knockoffs really that good? i got a buncha real ones, but are they the comparable?

yeah, theyre awsome. theyre a little hotter, though.

The ES-57s definately are good. Like I've said before, they sound more like an MD421 than a 57 (a good thing), and they are hotter. And inexpensive as hell. Don't even bother just buying one to try out, because you'll just end up buying 3 more.
