Hi Guys
I`m new here so be gentle with me
.
I used alot of the early 80`s analogue synths when i was in my late teens early twenties ( sh101, juno60 ,jupiter6, korg poly 800 to name a few ) but sold my gear to finance my car purchase etc.
I always figured I would replace it at a later date and start up my own home studio as cash allows , now it does.
Looking around I really have alot of experience with analogue synths and feel right at home with setting them up and tweaking them for the sounds i wanted , at the same time I want something that can take advantage of the newer technology available today and the ability to experiment with new soundscapes.
I initially looked at and was going to buy the Alesis Andromeda , but wanted something that had the ability to do something unique, Also looked at the Korg Karma but I felt the karma was more in control of the outcome than i was.
So i have taken delivery of a Roland Vsynth with ver2.0 software and a fostex MR8 HD and am looking for a web resource that helps explain the more advanced features of the Vsynth. Although I have alot of experience with analogue programming the new keyboard is very different so i feel like a noob with this thing.
The basic functions of editing sound patches , making a patch from a fresh init and things like that are not a problem, however i`m finding the learning curve for the Variphase and cosm features kind of steep, not to mention trying to split the keyboard into different zones and assign patches to each zone.
I Also have a Boss DR 880 on order and will have the whole lot hooked up to my computer for Midi manipulation.
Fire away , web links would be appreciated
