I need to record some seminars and hope someone can help me out .
I use a laptop and would like to know the best audio interface to do this or if anyone has another suggestion. I need to record them then edit them and want to be as portable as possible when recording. If anyone can recommend a good wireless mic as well I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Does your laptop have a sound card built in? For speaking voice, it may be sufficiant. If you are dissatisfied with the quality of the onboard audio, look into some of the following...

Those are only a few of the possibilities, but it should point you in the right direction. All of the editing would obviously done in software of witch there are many many flavors. For what you are looking to do, an inexpensive and/or freeware recording program should suit you fine.

As I have little experience in wireless mics, I'll let someone else field that question.

Shure, Sennheiser, and other mainline brands have
wireless mics. Just a couple of things to
help you along:

1) they are a lot more expensive than wired mics.
2) you are paying a lot for the transmitter/receiver
3) you can usually change the mic that goes with
the transmitter/reciever pair
4) when I bought 14 sets two years ago, we had
problems with frequencies used but the transmitter.
They used fixed frequencies, you had to order the
units with set frequencies that did not overlap,
and had to check with other local radio
users in the area. The theater I worked with was
near two major TV stations, and we had more
than a little trouble finding open frequencies.

Getting one or two is easy, more than ten can
be a challenge.
