Hi All.
I like connecting my guitar in different ways, to different boxes etc to create different tones. I've got a Motu 828 Mk3 audio interface and a couple of digitech gsp 2101 rack preamps for the guitar. I was about to buy a Palmer splitter to connect the guitar to both pre amps simultaneously but instead decided to try plugging the guitar into the mic/gtr inputs on the motu and then taking the outputs of the motu to many different boxes/amps etc so that I can connect anything in loads of ways just by recalling presets for the motu. I found that the distorted sounds were really prone to feedback though, much more so than if I connected the guitar straight to the 2101. I tried to maintain levels all the way through for consistency, is there some factor here that I'm not considering?
