Im promoting and producing for an artist named WALL B 3.I need to know what you think and what weaknesses do you see.Wall B 3
 
tell him to stick to one delivery, n not rap with a different voice on every song, he could switch up his style if he wants but always keep the same delivery


n tell him to step his lyric game up, i aint sayin he should be super lyrical, juss not come as simple
 
I was wondering about how different he sounds on each song .Is that a problem?
 
That's tru. delivery really changes a lot.. but i think his style is good and flow's on point. i like his spitting on what's my name.
 
if you listin to all tha greats, nas, pac, jigga, biggie, snoop n juss popualr rappers in general, they always have the same voice, they vary it slightly but its always the same,
 
Honestly, it sounds like dude doesn't know who he wants to be...

Does he wanna be east coast? Southern? West coast? Dude sounds confused...

And he's doing the one thing I hate most. Claiming he's rich off the music, and don't nobody know him. :rolleyes:

Even if dude is rich, it ain't because of his music... He ain't that nice. Stop fronting on the mic.

i disagree signrifantly regarding "same voice" - for one - its more of a plus cuz it shows versatility

as well, if you look at certain em cees over the duration of their career (pac for one) sound different at least between phases of development - listen to . . .


Tupac sounds different and has a different flow/delivery when he was with Digital Underground and when he moved to DeathRow

scarface now is very different from when he was also going by the name D-Act - on teh Geto Boyz "assasins" cd - and even still, scarface sounds different between GB and Mr. Scarface cds and DeadHomiez till now

Eminem uses various tonations and flows to match the moods of song concepts and music

The Game switches up his voice for certain emotional songs

and if any one remembers . . . Tracee Lee - dude was killin it wit multiple voices - even did a "split personality" song to match the personalities and voices he did - now that was a HIP HOP manifestation - not a RAP thing!!!!


i say stick to multiple voices as long as the voices are "notable" ande catchy - no need to have a dif. voice for the sake of having a dif. voice -

i dont think he sounds that different between "name" and "ride" regarding vocal tone - the flow is slightly different - but the tracks dictate delivery
now he do sound a lil different on suga daddy - it actgually sounds better on that song - but tehn again the track itself has a more "commmercial" type feel to it - even though the lyrics are RAW its still a radio "fit" to it . . .

octane is hot - but he realy sounds like royce . . vocally . . . especially on this one - his flow is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE THOUGH . . .

man - i can drop this on a cd and bump suga daddy and octane no matter where im at!!!!

As much as I like rap music for the lyrical content. I feel the beat production is ultimately the most important thing to get right.

Don't get me wrong of course rapping is important too!!

The catchiest song to me is "SUGGA DADDY" best balance vocally and beat production wise overall IMO.

I find "OCTANE" I find it too snappy/hard edgy sounding needs to be warm up, but it has a nice loose feeling to it rhymatically. Vocals are on the mark style wise.

The other too song sound wise to me are off. I can't put my finger on it. Vocally wise the words are very well annuciated and on the mark. He/They have a nice lispyness quality to it.

But I was bumping it! I'm feeling the style, the feel, and the flow! I'm not a rapper, but I know what I like. So if you're trying to base it off of real listeners, i'm your man. :) :) :) :) :) Not biased, a fan of rap, and not a rapper..... I think it's hot! Well, not hot, but definitely got a firm foundation~~~ Just IMHO
You must realize, most dudes in here Rap too. So their critique level will be more critical, as it should! But I like what duke had to offer..........
 
I agree that he needs to find a vocal style and stick to it.

Yes, the flows are simple and yes he is fronting. I know it, you know it. BUT...that's the difference between us and everybody else. We're all experienced musicians, so we're accustomed to things the way we do it.

As much as "we" don't like it right now, simplistic beats and lyrics (dumbed down rap) is in right now (hopefully it will die off or evolve into something else that's better), so I really can't blame the cat for trying to fit. It's kind of like keeping up with the other kids at school who had the new Nikes while you're trying to make your jeans baggier to hide the New Balance kicks you got on.

Only thing I really have to say is that he needs to figure out what his style should be. You shouldn't have a solo album of just you sounding like a compilation, ya dig?

dumbed down rap has always been "in" when it comes to mainstream rap, that album shit is dope but the singles always gotta be easy for the listiner,


n for tha other dude,

yeah all those rappers voices have changed over time, but it was a natural n long paced transition, they still had tha same voice for their albums,
 
I agree. Gotta put some shit in there for people who can't comprehend, but leave something for the folks who do.
