Im in a situation where my friend has his guitar tracks on a Tascam Digitalporta stuido DP-02. He wants me to put drums on his songs. Now heres the problem, the portastudio only has two inputs, and well i have my drums mic'd with eight mics so i need a mixer in order to make it work rite? and he doesnt have a mixer and neither do i.

Now i use a Tascam 1641 usb interface for my recordings cause well it has tons of inputs for my mics etc.

My question is, is there a way i can use my Tascam 1641 as a mixer, then send the output straight into the portastudio?

Thanks for yourtime guys

Why do you need to record to the DP-02...?

Why don't you just take his guitar tracks and dump them to your computer...then record your drums through the 1641 like you normally do.

There just simple scratch tracks, so hes gonna want the DP-02 back with the drums tracks on it, so he can add his further bells and whistles.

Is it possible to dump them on my comp then load em back on when im done ya think?

I'm sure it is....just keep them lined up at their start points, and they will stay in sync.
