I was reading around and people are saying that it takes more than one mic to get a good sound out of recording a guitar cab. i have an es-57(copy of an sm-57). what other mic can i get that would be in the 200 dollar range that would sound best, i have a eurorack mixer that runs striaght into my stock pc card.

thanks

I'm diggin' the E609 these days. Been blending one of those with an SM57 with some nice results.

Not really accurate. All it takes is one good mic ... a good amp, the right set of ears, and the willingness / patience to do a lot of experimenting.

That last part is where most folks fall short, and what separates the men from the boys, so to speak.

.

Chess is spot on right. Plenty of people are very happy with a single mic (SM57) for their sounds. IF you were looking at hardware, I'd first look at that sound card. A brand new shiny mic might be a waste of money.

Chess...what say you to that?
