Tried a search, but no luck.
First of all, please don't laugh too hard at my equipment, it was cheap, and used to sound pretty darn good, for the price. I was able to get much clearer and fuller sound than with the SM57/58 mics I have used in the past.
My equipment that I am having problems with:
Behringer Eurorack MX802A
MXL990
Decent quality balanced XLR mic cable
I hooked up and have been using the MXL 990 to my Eurorack board a couple of months ago and was actually surprised with the sound quality, it worked well.
Now, when I power up my phantom power, the red "+48V" light comes on and quickly fades off. I don't have another cable to try, but the same cable works with a Sure SM58 I have, plugged into the same port (I don't use the phantom power with this mic). I don't recall ever turning the phantom power on without having the condenser mic plugged in or ever plugging/unplugging the condenser mic with the power turned on.
Does the fact that the light comes on for a brief period of time point to any specific type of problem, other than this is all pretty cheap equipment?
Thanks in advance for any advice, I just need to know where to go from here...
