wow you're an asshole. Way to get clients dipshit. I would think you'd be nice(and grateful) to your clients.

that guy was a real dick. i would never go to a studio with some jerk like that running it.

Well, there are several things to consider here. First, tracking direct does not necessarily mean recording direct. You can take an unprocessed signal off of a guitar (with or without pedals, but then it's not unprocessed) and then send it to whatever amp you want, and then mic up that amp, and dial up killer sound
***according to the mixing engineer***. It won't dial up *your* sound, but it could be OK. That's the first thing. The second thing is- there is no point in recording with an arrogant prick with a second rate studio and an attitude, when you could give your money to hardworking honest audio engineers that don't have an attitude problem. OK, I think your Crate probably sucks too, like nearly every other Crate in existence, but- I could think of more compassionate ways to share that with you. The real problem is- I don't think your Crate can fit in the studio with the owner's ego. I would say this, if I were in his position-
"We have some state of the art amps here, and it is my professional opinion that there are other sounds we could make that you might prefer. Why don't we try this? We'll send your signal to the board first. That way, we can send it back to your amp, and you'll hear the sound you are used to hearing. We'll mic up your amp, and if that's the sound you want to go with, we can do that. However, I will have that unprocessed signal on another track, and I can send it to a few of our amps and mic them up, and I'll show you what it sounds like my way. What do you think?"

Well, Bucko, welcome to the *professional project* studio, where you are a participant in a creative process, instead of a tool. Just tell us where you live. I'm betting there are people on this board who would be happy to mic you up at cut rates just to save you from this dickhead who has a delusion that he is a producer. Run, don't walk. -Richie

Hillarious!

I dont even know if they even come to my studio. I have no clue who he is and ya know what, it's doubtful I even recomended they record direct into a piece of shit mackie preamp EVEN OVER A "crate".

LMAO!!!

It's more likely they chose a different crystal clear recording (theres one in dallas and one in philly as well as mine in Denver)

It's doubtful anyone can beat my low ball price of $25.00 an hour in either market anyways, even with my crappy gear. Good luck to ya if ya wanna try.

I still cant remember WHO this is and yeah, 4 years ago so it's kind of bugging me. it must have been when we first setup shop in the new house.

BTW, metalicadood bought a delta 1010 so I imagine he's stealing the sub 15.00 an hour work. I guess mcdonalds is still an option at this point, for one of us anyways.

I am NOT arrogant. I may be a resident internet asshole but mean to my clients I am not.

lots of assumptions here.

the website is Crystalclearrecording.com

There is an email address, but none of them worked for me. MailerDemon just sent the mails back to me saying that there is no such address.

This alone is reason enough for me to want to stay away! Their domain registration is with Go Daddy Software and PitBullAdvantage.com - what does that tell us?? Hmmmmmmm............not sure.

But if it's free and they dont mug you for your guitars, what do you have to lose? If you aren't paying any money, and you dont get your stuff ripped off, then why not?

I would at least ask them (1) Why they dont want to mic your amps, and (2) give me some clips or samples of work they've done for others. References, ask their references if you can hear the cd or what they thought of the place. They claim to upload MP3's on their web site for their clients, see if you can listen to them.

When you mix, do you listen?

LMAO.

I LOVE this site.

I am making this my new home page.

ATTN: soundchaser....

whats reason to stay away ? the fact that i registered my domain with godaddy or that I am hosted on pitbulladvantage.com servers that only cost me 5.95 a month.

I LOVE this site.

2.. examples, as shitty as they are (I do suck) are on my site. 1. I mic amps as well as record direct so i can "re-amp" or use amp farm or amplitude.

oh, and if anyones interested.. come visit my forum...

Whats the point of this balls? If your not sure that the dude is talkin about your studio or not what does it matter? And if you didnt say any of this stuff that he said then fuck it!! Perhaps the bass player was talking shit...anyhow i dont see how you have put the connection between him and you...either way seems a bit pointless

You have a point and I am just having fun with dude and his "crate" GSX PRO" and epiphone or whatever it is. After looking into his posts I see he recorded himself and started asking about setting preamp gains, etc and positioning mic stands.

LOL.

the LEAST of his problems are how he is going to record guitars.

and 4 years later i do wonder if he gave up, went away to college, interned at a studio, or is working at mc d's. we need to have a jerry springer reunion and see what happened with that demo. dude was just 15 so for all I know I am taking his order at applebee's, ior he is taking mnine at mc d';.s

but it's cool, I am the first one to start busting peoples balls about the marketing drivel we use on our web sites to put us above the rest. take a look at the garbage on my site right now, it's friggin embarrassing.

TEARS. I love you guys! I hope i didnt offend anyone earlier and i wasnt meaning to come off as such a dick.

next time you guys practice, run your pedals stright into the Board. this will give you a hint of what you'll be getting.

YES YES YES...do that!! Be sure you know what sound you are going to get. Ask for samples of other recordings done that way. Any recording studio that is worth you time will let youlisten to stuff they have recorded before. I know you are excited, so do what you gotta do to avoid disapointment.

No matter how excited you are, NEVER pay a studio to record you if they are not familiar with the style of music you play and/or cannot/will not give you samples of relavent and related work they have done before.

I have never had my balls busted by a bunch of "pro's" like this EVER.

You are mocking the fact that this place is called "HOME" Recording. Brilliant!

Too Late.

I see you've discovered the great marketing axiom, "The best offense is a professional defense!"

The simple reason I would walk away was quoted in my post - all of your email comes back undeliverable. That's all I need to push me some where else.

The way you so freely ridicule the people in here is proof that I would be right to go somewhere else.

The sour grapes attitude you have assumed in defending yourself in this thread is proof that walking away and going somewhere else would be the right decision.

I dont think you are making any believers here, bud.....

What a bunch of junky shit.....jeez.

So can I bring my fucking crate to the studio or what? Trust me, I wired in some tubes so it sounds totally bad ass!

I would put that sunn with a 2x10 and 1x5 with an american metal pedal against your crate anyday.

My point was leave your garbage made in japan Crate at home and give some trust to the engineer. I dont want to record what sounds good in your 10x7 bedroom, I want what will translate good to tape and it aint a crate.

and epiphone.

LOL, not with you, AT you.

and yeah my gear is shit, my point was to at least give ya an updated list to laugh at.

okie dokie.

I'll assume that the 5150 is a band you were recording and the behringer amp modeler is yours. or the other way around.

I was the one called out here.

It's called sarcasm dude......damn....I was joshing you!

you're way too defensive :p
