I've had this thing forever. It's always been pretty good to me, but i recently decided i needed a little more editing freedom, so i wanted to backup my tracks as .wav files and get them on my computer. i've never tried to do this, but it says right in the manual that you can, right? Well I go into Setup mode, Save program...IDE, Backup...and it's supposed to ask me what backup mode i want: FDMS3 or WAV. right? well my machine seems to just skip over this whole process and takes me to the "Source Program Select" page that comes later in the sequence. It didn't mention WAV once and i think it burned me a FDMS3 disc. Whatever it was, it wasn't what i wanted. Is this making sense? or is the machine just on the fritz finally? any thoughts on the matter would be much appreciated.

You should be fine continue with the backup procedure, my manual pg.116 directs me to program select also. I've backed up wav. files before. Give it a try than u can reload it just to check it out.

Zampan0:

(1) What VF160 do you have (VF160, VF160-CD, VF160-EX)

(2) What version OS do you have (I suspect it's earlier than v1.10)? I think you need at least v1.10 to save WAV files to CD.
