Home Depot. Milwaukee Power Tools.

Everything else is Chinese-made garbage that will sound bad when you try to use it.

I love topics where you can pad your post count for no good reason...:D

If you mike it right, it'll sound just like a Porter Cable!

Oh, shure. Every manufacturer of cheap power tools says their stuff sounds just like a Porter Cable. But they don't.

I've got a whole tool rack full of Porter Cable stuff, and the Ryobi's sound nothing like them.

If you want stuff that sounds like Porter Cable, then buy Porter Cable.

"That's cause they've been the industry standard for great sound since modern-day power tool using begun.

Just the fact that all companies puts quotes on their sites that they're power tools "sounds as good as Porter Cable" proves which power tools you should really be looking at for good sound."-with apologies to Stefan, from whom this quote was lifted, then butchered...for the REAL quote, see:

I find the Porter Cable stuff to be harsh sounding. Particularly the circular saws. IMHO, YMMV

Oh, and a good engineer can do just as well with Black and Decker as a home carpenter with Porter Cable.

Are these Porter Cables we're talking about as good as Mogami Cables? What about Monster Cables?

Ya ever hear any sweeter sound than the brake kicking in on a DeWalt 12" compound miter saw...I think not!

That's the true Yellow and Black attack...

Yeah, my wife got me a matched pair of black and deckers for christmas........I don't like the sound of them much.....but my wife reckons they'll sound great on the unfinished patio which has been (very) gradually built up over the past year!
So if anyone want's to trade a couple of nice overheads for the 2 B and D's.................

you do know....

....that craftsman tools are just rebadged dewalts, don't you?

peas and jalapeno cornbread,

I heard Black & "Deck-her" are making a 'long stroke' hammer drill with some kind of rubber attachment! ;)

If you really are asking, be more specific, and I will tell you. The only thing I can say for sure is NOT to get anything at Home Despot, unless you are a real expert, in which case you will know a better place to buy what ever you are looking for. I can't imagine where they find the idiots they have working there, but good god man. Talk about hiring from the shallow end of the gene pool.

Well, she may be right. The room and room treatments can make all the difference in the world. ---- Can anyone recommend a versatile under $500 mic pre that can handle both band saw and the more subtle tone of an acoustic screwdriver?
