Need book recomendations

Hey guys --

I am looking for a textbook about acoustic/sound/recording engineers. Particularly, I wanna read more about the physics of sound, musical instruments, electroacoustic, etc. I have a background in physics, so a theoretical approach would be fine be me.

Any recommendation?
 
Mastering Audio by Bob Katz. Normally thought of as a book on mastering, by a mastering engineer, Mastering Audio is really about audio as a whole. Most people I know that read that book became much better mixing engineers because of it.
 
I'd recommend Sound Reinforcement Handbook by Gary Davis. It's from the analog era but it's a great reference for many things, including how to solder up lots of kinds of cables. He writes from an engineer's perspective which gets deeply into the whys and wherefores more than some of the books about recording.

Measured Tones: The Interplay of Physics and Music
by Ian H. Johnston

I read this one awile ago and really liked it. It took kind of a historical side to it as well as the Physical side. I haven't read any of the books in the "Customers who bought this book also bought:" section of amazon, but they look like other good starting places.
