hmmm... im confused as to why your getting an interface and a mixer.

i think the mixer isnt necessary, since you will have one with the software.

what i would focus on if i were you are these things...

first off are you doing vocals too?

if so... i would focus on
1.) interface
2.) vocal mic
3.) instrument mic

the interface should have 2 XLR inputs because that will open your options and make your guitar tracks a LOT better because you have the ability to record stereo (with 2 mics at once).

at your budget this is what i would get.

Lexicon Lambda (Interface) / Cubase LE (software that comes with it)
Shure SM57 (instrument mic)
and that large diaphram condenser looked ok to me.. no personal experience with it.

that will be about 350

if your not doing vocals then i would get two SM57's

HOW IT WORKS...
1.) Software goes on your computer... within the software you will have a digital mixer.. equalizer.. compressor... reverb.. delay.... a bunch of cool stuff to play with to make your track sound better... (but make sure you have the best possible track)

2.) the interface plugs in to your computer... with this particular interface it would be via USB 2.0 ... make sure you put it in a 2.0 and not a 1.0.. makes a big difference...

3.) microphones plug into the interface (or instrument) ..

simple as that.

with a large diaphragm condenser you might want a pop filter...

this is what i would do in your position.

if the computer your using uses Vista as the operating system.. then you will need cubase LE4

also i'd be careful if you were running vista... i've heard there can be problems with this interface on a 64 bit.

but obviously.. you should see the equivalents in that price range... but i would SURELY get 2 XLR inputs (mic inputs)

Thank you for your help. I wasn't sure if I needed the mixer. I'll be using Acoustica Mixcraft. Yes I will be doing vocals too. So I do need a large diaphragm and small diaphragm?

well if your looking to get two mics then i'd seriously get a vocal mic and that Shure sm57...

its a great mic that you can use for everything...

its a dynamic mic.. and depending on your room it might even work better on your vocals aswell..

a LDC mic like the one you posted will pick up pretty much any sound in the room.... so if you have a bad room to record in then a dynamic mic can sometimes be better for vocals aswell.

your room can effect your recording a LOT... it can also effect your mix, but i see your using headphones.

but the room can add and reduce the sound waves at certain frequences... most common it can either add or suck out enough bass to make it noticeable.
