need a lot of help!

Since you don't understand the humour on this forum, let me explain it to you. The members here have paid out a large amount of $$$$ for their software and have built a community of mutual help here as we all get to grips with the complexity of recording music.

So it doesn't do a lot for us when someone turns up at this forum saying that they have been given a copy of Sonar 2.0 from their friend (whatever that means) and then makes matters worse by not having the decency to type accurately.

There are many members here for whom English is not their first language and yet they do their best when posing/answering queries. And they are given respect by the other members for it.

Chuck has given you more information than you deserve imho, which goes to show that in spite of everything, this forum still manages to be reasonably friendly to people who insult us.:)

ChuckU, will your new Avatar alude to your "big dick" status?:)

Paul, you are right about the info I gave. I'm even curious to see how Peter makes out with it.
My new avatar will not be x-rated, but my first idea might appeal to DavidK. That's all I'm going to say.

wow this is waht you guys do for fun huh? well thats fine. bash on the young un whatever...

Peter you said you needed alot of help, I agree. You've got lots to learn and not just about recording. Does borrowing software mean you pirated it? Well quite frankly, yes, but let's get by that fact because not everyone lives their life by the book. A bigger issue for you is learning not to wear your emotions on your wrist. You need to learn to become more resilient, flexible, able to take a shot of criticism now and then. What are you going to do on stage when someone heckles you? I hope you have that figured out by then. Let this issue go. Don't be angry with us. We may be crude in our methods but we are trying to build a better character out of you. Get on with your life, soon you'll look back at this and smile as you grow. Good luck to ya!

If you were "wise" enough to not pay for the software you are going to be able to figure out how it works...

Yeah! I finally found someone who makes more typos than I do!
And I am mexicano, WOW!

Cheers, Peter! ;)

Hey if you ask me I just looked at this thread for the first time and you guys did sound a little bit arrogant. I thought you ask a question and it gets answered in this forum. Also what about that saying...."There is no such thing as a dumb question." Nice way to help out a fellow musician. This forum is about the musician's right? I have Cake pro audio 9 and I am willing to help you out my man. Just asks away.

Chalin27, you are right. I have been a member of this forum for about two years and I have a lot to thank the other members for, without their help, I would not have got very far with my sound recording experience.

Maybe we were a little arrogant, but when we have parted with our hard earned cash and someone comes onto the forum and asks such an open question like " I got the software from a friend unpaid for (i.e. pirated), how do I use it?" it gets the members backs up. Sorry, but thats just how it is.

But Chuck gave a good post and now you are offering to respond positively as well, so as I posted earlier, in spite of everything, this is still a friendly place for Sonar/CW users, even those who don't pay for their software. But don't expect great responses from all the more experienced members.

Hey, Chalin!

When I entered here as a newbie, I had the same impression as you do, but mostly reading (not that much posting, as you can see in my post count) I realized that these guys can have a strange sense of humor, but once you get the hang of it, it's great!

I have learnt tons and tons of info just by reading, and when I do post, I have in mind the wacked sense of humor of us all.

Be cool :D

Ok, how about this one?
