need a good amp for pop punk

My current band plays a mixture of pop-punk-emocore, kinda Motion City Soundtrack meets Thrice (weird, I know). I play an SG Junior through a POD into the PA.

If you really want to get a decent tone, your going to need to get a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier I'm afraid. However, if like me your not that rich, a POD will get you 99.5% of the way there.

Hoped its helped!

And if you want to drive fast you will need a BMW.

and if you want good advice, you better ask a guiyar player

dude..

first of all, thanks again to everybodies replies! :)

i actually dont know why i didnt look into the mesas earlier.. mainly because i just always heard they are expensive.. and i did never buy any used gear yet

but after lotuscents post (suggesting the subway rocket) i did a research on small mesa combos.. and i read alot of reviews - and that made my decision. i know, most of u would NEVER buy an amp that way, without even knowing what it will sound etc.. but well the quite biggest store in my country doesnt even have one mesa.. and i buy most of my stuff this way. reading (enough) of other ppls opinions does it for me. im not that eccentric when it comes to guitar sound, yet (after all im not playing much longer than a year lol)

most of these small mesa combos arent being made anymore anyway.. so i spent a whole day on searching used mesa combos in my budget/area - and found 3 ".50 caliber" and 1 "studio .22".

i was too late for the calibers (and one was a head not combo), but not for the studio .22 - and i got it :D :D :D

oh well, i exceeded my budget and find it weird one the hand, to pay that much for a 1x12 combo.. BUT IT WILL BE A MESA/BOOGIE :D:D
and from what i read, there is SO much too expect from that "little" piece :)

well, i can tell you i am excited! cant wait to get it :D
