 hello, i dont know whether i'm mental, or my copy of battery is bugged, or i'm just stupid, but once you have layered sounds in a cell in battery how do you seperatley manipulate them. i know you can select the layers but when you try and tune or make changes to the amp envelope it effects every sound in the cell. does anyone know how to do this? any help much appreciated.

NI sucks

No, it's not you...IMO ALL native insrtuments software products suck big time (I have used various NI products)! I've never seen any commercial software with worse documentation and tech support than NI. I have visited a lot of other forums (regarding NI) and have seen others that like NI but in truth, NI knows jack shit about software development and supportability.

Don't think I've helped but, I wish you well trying to work out your issues with NI. Good luck.

so there is no way of doing it?? surely this is a really basic function

I would try posting this in the computer forum...probably more folks that could help you out. It's been a while since I used battery so i can't remember about modifying the original cells, but I used to map each sound to its own input in the cubase mixer and then mix and tweak them individually there.
