Nak mr-1 #3 just delivered!
NAK MR-1 #3 arrived last week. i was in hospital so my neighbor took delivery of it. another 'bay' win, got it for under $41 plus $15 shipping.
it'll keep my 2 other mr-1s and the 600 company. at some point i'll get a nice 19" EIA rack for the 3 mr-1s and a rack mount 4x1 switcher.
was advertised as "not working, tape stops".
so i cleaned heads and let'er rip. 1/2 way thru a udxlII c90 it finally stopped. i cleaned p rollers and it still stops but less often.
i need to get some really lite grain sandpaper and very lightly rough up the p rollers surface. that's worked on other machines pretty well.
could it be the idler tire in this case?
rw and ff work fine. it just stops in play.
guess i should order some tires.
trying different tape (a c-60) now. so far, so good.
2nd tape also stopped but just before end.
seems as the tape progresses towards its end, the increased tension(?) seems to cause the stoppage.
