If it's clipping you want to lower the signal (Microphone, drum machine), or lower the input fader in N-Track (I assume there is someway of setting the input level in N-Track?) Or, lower the level in the windows soundcard/mixer window - to lower the mic/line input level, you may have to go to options>properties>recording in the mixer window to enable viewing of the microphone or line in fader. Also, the signal your putting into the soundcard - it is line level and not something way higher like the speaker out of a guitar amp? :)

friends...

ok...so i downloaded the n track demo.. not bad so far... but heres my problem.. i cannot record or playback at decent levels w/o the vu meter clipping... i can compensate by by upping my amp volume , but that introduces ALOT of that " silent " noise... i messed with the computer volume ,windows soundcard volume , the mixer volume , and the master volume.. with no good results.. what am i missing ? or is this just another case of me using my mb's cheap soundcard ?

the line in volume is set in your windows volume control, unless you're using another audio card which will have it's own volume control. go to fasoft.com for ntrack support bbs. :)
