Actually I agree with you 100%. No reservations about that. You said it well. But because I am the difficult PITA that I am, I am still curious about the inner workings of those who have a good handle on their instrument of choice, then learn theory, and POOF...instant cheeseball.

Give them a year or so to see if the condition persists. It's just like anything else that somebody just learns, they'll apply it to everything all the time.

In the meantime, it's important not to cut them off from the outside world, lest they receive undesirable reinforcement

Eddie is a drunken goofball. Before he shows up back stage (or at an event) his advance people come in and inform everyone that he is coming and that no one is supposed to try to engage him in conversation. If you walk up to him, he gets really freaked out.

After a while, he might muster up the courage to come over and talk to you. He is a really nice guy once he knows you, (he is still skittish until he gets used to the idea that you are there) but I wouldn't really take any advice from him.

No, he and Don are like family from everything I've ever read from both. Eddie laughed when he said it, he was busting on him. Still, it's some insight into his true feelings on the matter of schooling as it applies to "this shit"

Actually, AC/DC's best-selling album, Back in Black, sold about ten million copies or so.

Steve Vai's Passion and Warfare sold over a million copies, and it was an INSTRUMENTAL GUITAR ALBUM. I'd say that's a pretty respectable feat.
