My Monkees Leaving (It's All Your Fault...) remix

The first thing that stood out from me is the insane amount of reverb/effects on the vocals in the intro. Then, when it kicks in the vocals are way too back in the mix. I'd love to hear them more.

Overall it has a cool 80s punk sound. Almost Dead Milkmen'ish.
 
Really enjoyed that :) Checked out some of your other tunes and from your reply to my thread on Alice Cooper tunes I see you like the same era music I do. I do listen to newer stuff also but I always turn the station back to the classic one.

Your right....I do have some verb'chorus on the intro vocals...I thought it sounded ok on my monitors, but when I listened on a cd in my car, it did sound way to verby....gonna back it down...will adjust the vocal level during the loud part as well......Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, big fan of classic Alice Cooper.....my band is trying to do "Hello Hooray"...been kinda a bitch to pull off as a 3 piece as the verse's are kinda naked except for strings/keys.....I like your version!!!
 
Pretty cool song. Can't really make out the verses though. Lead guitar sounds pretty cool. The rhythms and bass are a little muddied up but not too bad. The minimalistic drums sound perfect for this song. Maybe could use a tad more dry kick.

Good job overall. Fun song. :)

Thanks Greg....I got work to do on this still...my 1st version was lacking in bass /low end so I kinda over compensated on this I think...gonna take it back to the drawing board and try and clean it up! Thanks for the feedback!

Ok...tried to dry the vocals out on this and take the mud out of the guitars...links at the top of the thread play the updated mixes....any better?

I was able to understand most the intro vox on this mix without reading the lyrics.
Then nice classic type punk sound! The vox are harder to understand there, but fitting for that punk style there IMO. Sounds cool. The high end on the bass sounds good in there too, drives the tune. I'd try keeping it at that level but just drop a bit of midrange on the bass though.

Hey Snake, thanks for the good word! Gonna try and drop some of the mids on the Bass guitar as you suggest.....
 
Hey Vari...I missed this somehow.

You might have changed it since the first post, but I find the vocals a good level. I love the guitars, which always sound solid in your tunes. The drums sound great and are NOT TOO BUSY on this one. :D

Cool tune. Your titles are always funny as hell, man.

The vox - good. No suggestions.

The playing - really cool.

The mix sounds good. The song sounds cool. The backing rhythm riff is sounding cool.
 
NuVoPunk....I love it. Only one nit....the guitar player doesn't get the joke. It's always best to stop playing when you run out of ideas. Shorten up the leads OR develop them into something as crazed as the rest of the song.
