Yeah it's way roomy. It sounds like it was recorded live in a giant empty room. Love the bass. I don't think it's "sludgy" though. Not bad for a first run through.

Hey Greg, I did have a sub channel with a reverb plug that I routed everything thru trying to get it all to sound in the same place....I think i succeeded in having that same place sound like the grand canyon :p.. got rid of that so hopefully it sounds a little tighter now...the only delay/verb now should be on the guitar and bass guitar solo....otherwise pretty dry( 6 tracks of guitars though)..
Thanks for listening!

Yeah it's better. There's a little clash of the frequency titans going on the middle. Too much happening in there. Maybe spread the rhythm guitars wider. The first lead seems super loud now, which I didn't notice on the first listen.

This is cool, but I agree with Greg on all the points he made.

Having said that, "Rage Against the Sardine" is the funniest fucking title I've read......like....EVER. :D

This... rocks. I don't agree with Greg at all. Oh how I'm liking the way your guitars sound. Earphones on, pressed play with my volume too loud but I didn't adjust it. No comments. Add the vocals and update me man, I'm curious.

lol. I saw band once called 'Rage Against Charlie Sheen'

Good stuff.

Hey Greg, tried to clean up some of the mid junk in the mix...I also knocked the guitar solo level down a bit...link at top of thread plays new mix...thanks for the suggestion!

Ha! Thanks Rami!

Thanks singlespeak, was going for a oldschool metal/Sabbath type of vibe...glad ya dug it!

Atom Bomb lol. I saw band once called 'Rage Against Charlie Sheen'
Good stuff.

Ha! Yeah, the possibilites are endless with "Rage Against...":D Thanks for listening!

Here is a link to the new mix(same as the top of thread):

Cool :). Love this one queepster.

Listened yesterday and again now to the updated mix. I thought it sounded fine before and maybe a bit thinner today, but still plenty powerful. It does seem like I lost track of the bass guitar a little on this mix. There are so many possibilities for vocals over this...can't wait to hear it with some if you add them. Love the drums.

Yes...infinite possibilities...rage against the latrine?

Anthropophage Against the Bean.
They're a politically-active band who advocate eating vegetarians. :D

This is a pretty cool song. Really nice guitar tone.

Any plans lyrically?

dude, this song rocks.

your main riff is just like a song tim sult from Clutch would write...and your bends are exactly his style. damn dude even your leads are so tim sult haha i love it, very badass

honestly, even as a first mixdown, this sounds like something off of 'pure rock fury' by clutch...just raw as fuck, intense and in your face. like the clipping and everything, it's exactly how PRF is mixed man..are you a clutch fan!? god damn lol love it

I'd like to hear the kick thunder a little more. Can't wait to hear the vox on this!!!

Best song title ever. Great old school vibe to the whole thing especially the guitars. Drums are like Bonham reincarnated. Did you program all that? The wah lead.. I love everything about this one. You're on a real roll here queepyaxman with that other funky tune from a couple of weeks back. Great stuff, respect

Great start, Q.

Nice vibe. Mix is in the neighborhood, but if you add vox, you're going to have to remix it all again to shoehorn them in. :)

I loved the buzz and audio junk in the breaks.. like a noisy amp. Honestly, wouldn't remove it. :) i.e. 2:15...with the HH and the "junk"... except you clipped it with a fade at the end of the song where you could have heard the "buzzz'" in all its' glory!

heatmiser Cool . Love this one queepster.

Thanks HM! I think I did "thin" it a little much...I do dig that real heavy bass in my mix, drums are Simon Phillips loops (Zeps Good Times Bad Times, sliced and diced up for this)

Anything against the bean is cool by me!:D Working on lyrics slowly...just got a gig with a second band (classic rock covers:o) besides my already regular band(classic rock covers :drunk::o:p) so time has been hard to come by...but I really want to develop this one, as well as get back to doing originals....thanks for the tone props!

Monkey Allen I like it queepy
- cool , thanx!

Cool man...I dig Clutch...haven't got to deep into 'em but what Iv'e heard,I really like....My inspiration was kinda a Sabbath meets Raging Slab(Don't Dog Me) Thanks for the listen and good word man, I really appreciate it!

Chili I'd like to hear the kick thunder a little more. Can't wait to hear the vox on this!!!

I would too! That is the rough thing about using the loops(for me) Any EQ /compression I do, applies to the entire drum sound...I do give the drum track a little boost around 60 hz...vox are coming....thanks for the feedback!

Thanks Bulls...Yeah as I said earlier, those drum loops are from Simon Phillips Drums On Demand collection...and this actual set was patterned for Zeps "Good Times Bad Times" ...Yeah, I wish I could do as much writing/recording as I used to...just no time anymore...I am going to keep working on these 2 latest though, thanks man!!

Thanks Kev...I do see that struggle looming on the horizon :D...I get impatient sometimes and rush thru things knowing that I will have to redo it all if I add vocals to a song I recorded...Sometimes I just need the kick of getting feedback from listeners to keep me inspired/ pushed to finish what I started :o Thanks for listening Kev, appreciate it!

Cool you picked up on that..I try to get my sound as un-podlike as I can so leaving little buzz/noises, in the right song, sounds cool to me....I think I will let it go a little longer at the end next mix...thanks for the suggestion, appreciate the listen!
