I have my M1's now, but I was looking at the picture of them online, and they are oriented with the bass holes on the outside, right now I have them on the inside, does it really matter?

It may matter, but to what degree I don't know. However, it would be better to set them up in the way they were designed to operate, with the bass ports on the outside.
