My friend's song... can you mix it? Two tracks, acoustic and vocals.

I try'd to make it a bit interesting... but I failed miserbly.
I also try's removing a bit of whinyness... also failed
but I like the echo after the "my prison" .... thats the only part i like
you can also hear where I cut and pasted and/or removed the guitar from the vox.

Grilled cheese, THATS FREEKEN AWSOME!!
 
I think I'm just going to get him to re-record it, especially since there is all the bleeding of the two tracks. You guys have mixed it a lot better than I have. I have nothing, it just sucks, LOL.

If your setup will let you, record just the guitar first and then put him on headphones and record the vocals.

Also when you record the guitar record a DI if it is an A/E guitar as-well as the miced guitar. Or record the guitar in stereo.

Its a cool song. Post the files so we can give it another shot at mixing it for you.

I don't know what the term is but it is pretty boomy on my end.

I really like the vocals. He's got that cool ... whispering voice. Yea , I would say some of it sounded squashed. With the strumming it sounded squashed , if you layed off of the compression there it might be a good idea. On the contrary , I thought the plucking parts of that song sounded REALLY good with the compression on it. Just something about it , maybe an intimate sound to the plucking. Cool stuff though , I like. Fool around with different reverbs. I wasnt fond of that reverb for the hard strumming at the end , maybe something more subtle. Nice stuff.
