Hi! My first post.

Well, decided to post a little ditty. It's a simple jazzy tune with acoustic geetar and erm, very short.

What u reckon?

Comments appreciated. Thanks.

Holy shit! Nice first post!

Great drums. I am weeping over these drums. Do you know how bad I want to get that drum sound? No you don't. You have no earthly idea.

Ah! The piano just shot me through the heart with love! God, I'm eating this up.

I don't usually gush. Ask anyone here, but this song has nearly brought a tear to my eye. The only flaws I can find are that it's not three minutes longer and Shirley Bassey's not belting out a wicked-ass vocal.

I just did a reply to a Pantera-esque metal song, which I really liked, and then I go straight to this. Holy mother of God, I love this site!

I'm on my third listen and getting more out of it every time. This is the best post I've heard here in a while. Please tell me how much of this is analog instruments, how much is MIDI, how you recorded it. It's been a long time since I've been in awe. Congratulations.

You will rule the world.

That is all.

I'm sorry, I have to reply again.

Do you ever listen to Barry Adamson? He's got a bit of the jazz in him, but it's edgy and contemporary. He writes music that sounds like a movie soundtrack, IMO. If you've never listened, try a bit. One of the best male voices in music, if you ask me. And very original songs. As Above So Below is by far the best album, by the way.

Again, great post! Keep that coming, or else!

That's a happy little snappy jazz tune you put together there!

Me like...........Lots!!

Mix-wise, I loved the sound of the drum kit and the bass but they actually seemed to be a bit far forward in the mix compared with the the other instruments.

The musicianship was first rate.

I am very impressed! :)

Thanks!

Wow. You certainly made my day Piltdown Man. Bout time I did a tune that someone liked! My missus keeps telling me to keep the noise down. :(

All the instruments are real apart from the piano which the edirol plugin and the bass is the acoustic bass patch from a korg triton.

As for the geetar, it was a classical for the solo bits but with an ovation steel string coming in later for the background chords.

Nice tip about Barry Adams.

Thanks for listening!

Welcome!! :)

Very gooooood... seems you've got some things to teach each of us.
WOW what a good recording/performance/mix. Great brushes on drums...
thank goodness the piano is not of the mono-sounding variety...
very jazzy tune, indeed. Excellent.

5 stars... what a heckuva way to introduce yourself :)

excellent song and sound..

when I saw your name I thought of Geezer Butler.

Very cool. Nice changes and some VERY nice guitar playing.

Sorry, but in my earlier post, I meant to type Barry ADAMSON, not Barry Adams. For some reason, my fingers didn't type the ON. Oops.

By the way... I edited that post.

:-)

When I saw Geezer, I had to listen! I too am a geezer. I am simply stunned by this recording....... you may be new here, but you aint no newbie! This is a real piece of work Geez, first rate! I need to hear more.... real soon!

BTW, besides you can't be all bad, a fellow Ovation player!

This is a great recording. So much space between the different instruments.

Cute song too. great groove! Even though I don't listen to that kind of music much, it's very enjoyable from the first listen.

Well done! You rock!

Agree with all of the above.

Musicianship, recording, mixing, all top notch.

Cool jazz, well done

Man, what a great sound

This is great stuff. Don't know how your doing it, but keep doing it.

From yet another geezer....well done....very nice although too short.
Sounds very good......thought the keys were a little soft in a few places..........verynice plaing.
When you need a sax on something like that....let me know.

Great stuff indeed.

And Piltdownman is right about Barry Adamson.

If I were you I'd say YES to that offer of Lt. Bob ;)

Whoooooooaaaaaaaaa!
I started reading the comments by the others on the board while I was downloading - I thought I was prepared for some thing hot - I wasn't - it's waaaaaaaayyyy HOT! Tell your missus to call my missus - she'll fly up to the UK and the two of them can go shopping or eat krumpets or something. We can do our music without all that negative vibe stuff.

I do have one criticism about this piece - it's about one hour too short. I'll be waitin' for more! Loved it!
Milan

p.s. - I love this place! The music doesn't stop!

It's great, isn't it?

Love ya too, MC Gitarz. Good to have you around... :)

Thanks, man - I've never been associated with so many incredibly talented musicians - ot's really an honor for an old fart like me.

Hey - how's granny?

Wow! Thanks for the offer Lt.Bob - much appreciated.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I have some more tunes here if anyone's interested:

http://www.musicwebs.net/musicians/cs/tunes.htm

but be warned, there's the some really dodgy stuff there - like some old not so good stuff and some cheesy 'ethnic' stuff. (I mean, calling a tune 'Feta Complis' is unforgiveable. Probably drunk at the time).

Oh yeah, and they're all short.

Been listening to some tunes from members here - there's some great music here. Wish I would have come across this site sooner!

Bye.

Chris

I jammed through this 5 times with violin, I love it. Your maturity shows and it's very cool.
