"Rainy Day" and if you have time "Foggy Dew"

If you have the time and inclination, I would appreciate some input on my mixes I recorded /mixed Saturday.The music style is Celtic /Jazz /Worldbeat. The band is one I have been in for over 7 years (I play drums). Sometimes you can be too close to everything to be objective, so any input would help.
Rainy Day was recorded all at once with the full band (more parts are to be added later such as horns and percussion),Foggy Dew was done track at a time. I think I like Rainy Day best, It seem to be more cohesive where Foggy seems too busy and crowded. But give me your input if you will.

I know we aren't the best of musicians,so there are some perfomance issues , but feel free to blast away at those as well, we all need to get better!

For some reason the MP3s came out a little soft.
 
I listened to both of them and they sound great. the only thing that i would suggest is Just little (barly Hearibal) Hall revurb on the snare. And pan you tracks out more. On Foggy dew, The 2 guitars need to be paned out more to the left and the right to leave some room for the vocal. How did you record the guitars and the drums.

Good song. (good fiddle player too.)

The Guitars(US fender Strat) on Foggy were recorded with a At 4033 infront of his Fender (Concert?) amp. The guitar on Rainy was recorded with a Studio Projects T-3. He uses a pretty healthy dose of digitech pedal board effects as well.
The drums (surprisingly enough) were recorded with only 4 mics. A Beta 52 on kick, 2 Cad e-100s out in front low to floor in front of toms and a Studio projects B3 10 inches off the shell of the snare.

Thanks for the input! I'll see how I can use it.
The snare has a little small room on it but it seemed to disappear once mixed.
 
Listened to Rainy Day. Not too bad of a job. Interesting combination of instruments.

Seems to be timing issues here and there, mostly with the bass. A couple of hits seem muffed.

The fidelity on the drums seemed better than that of the other instruments. Maybe it's just me.
 
Most every thing was direct except the drums. I was so worried the drums would sound like crap(me being the drummer), I spent a good deal of time experimenting with mic placement. Perhaps I should have spent the same time on the other instruments.

Thanks for your input, yes there are a bunch of muffed things, I haven't really done any editing yet... That is next.
 
Listened to Rainy, and Grey Funnel Line. Nice sounding, good songwriting. Some stuff is hard to hear what is going on...the drums could be a bit meatier sounding. but not too much that it loses the folkish kinda vibe. Cool stuff.
 
This is damn good for a live recording man.
Not my style.. but got to give credit where its due.
 
I listened to Rainy Day:

Sounded more like a jam than a song. Could have used more dynamics. You have some good musicians there. With vocals you could have a Dave Matthews Band thing happening. Keep it up, obviously there's some good things to come from you guys. :)
