I have a Tescam 8-track recorder that I've been doing recording of my electric bass on for about a year and I figured it was time time for me to step it up and finally buy a microphone. I'm interested in recording mostly vocals on the mic but also some saxophone and amped bass. I also might do acoustic guitar. I have looked at a number of different mics and have narrowed it down to 2:
Audix OM2
MXL v67g
I know these are two completely different mics but they both sem really good. I don't know much about mics. I am going to be using it in my bedroom, no live shows or anything, to do the recording. Could you guys help me out with getting started? I just need to know what mic would be best for my needs. And also would you recommend a dynamic or condenser mic? Any advice or recommendations would be great!

You've picked a nice dynamic and a nice condenser there. Either one will get you on the road. Read the sticky to understand the difference in applications for microphones or just buy one, you really can't make a mistake (you can get the audix at b&h photo for $90 and the Marshall for $100 everywhere

Does your recorder have phantom power? If not, you're limited to mics that don't need it, or you'll need to buy something such as a pre-amp, mixer, or phantom power supply to be able to use most condenser mics.

Yeah, I have phantom power in my recorder. Thanks for the advice! Any miore help is appreciated.
