My first attempt at mixing EVER! Please listen and critique...

Hi all, this is my first attempt at recording and mixing ever, so please take that into consideration when listening. Please let me know what I need to improve on, although I am sure it is everything... I used Sonar 3 Producer Edition to record and mix. I also used Spectrasonics Stylus and Atmosphere.

Nice going! Especially for a first attempt.
You should bring up the volume and start eq'ing though.
The intro is a little long or should build up more. Some transitions are a little harsh too.
Other then that a very good job. I like the music. Keep it up.

It doesn’t match the volume level of most of the other stuff I listen to here. Also, the drums and gtrs could come up in the mix.

I like the mood, nice sounds, and I like the idea of the acoustic gtrs that is only suggested here in the beginning

I’m with a previous post; the intro seems too long for my taste. If your asking, I find that at about 30 sec. something new could be intro’d (maybe the acu gtr?). And then at about 1 to1:20 intro the drums

Just a few thoughts, keep writing.

Thanks for the great input! I agree, there should be either be a shorter intro, or something new introduced at a sooner point. I guess it could have helped if I could have gotten vocals down - The vocals actually will start after the second bar of guitar.... Thanks again! I hope to keep learning....
