jamal,

aw, how could I miss a guy that looks like a depressed Charlie Brown? :D

I meant to comment earlier on this song. I really like the energy, and how it's just different enough from the mainstream to be cool and not derivative. Didn't hear your live drums version; just the original. Sounds nice... since this is just on multimedia spkrs, I'll leave it at that. This song's a good 'un.

I agree with many of the comments here:

Good voice, good writing. Has an '80's sound: the offbeats on snare remind me of the Go-go's - as does the chorused guitar (this is a compliment). I think your final drum take should be less busy overall - especially ride/hihat. The gits have plenty of rhythmic stuff going on.
I would cut the guitar intro (pre-drums) in half and put a guitar lead over that break near the end (I guess that would really complete the '80's feel - probably not what you're after but it's what I'm hearing :D).

I'd also like to hear a bit less distortion on guitar and kill the chorus BUT double the part (except on the intro).

I don't usually get this opinionated, but I like the tune. Looking forward to more progress.

I Second That...

Jamal...Chuck is a smart and talented man...and not just because he totally agrees that the intro should be cut in 1/2...and that the drums lost some drive...

:D

This song will be absolutely perfect in 2 weeks, whether you like it or not.

:D

Jamal,

This ones really coming along nicely. You know it's almost done when we start nit-picking.
I have to agree- I would cut the intro in half. I also agree with the comment about the hi-hat being too busy starting at about 1:00. Also a couple of minor vocal issues.
Hang in there man, this one is worth it.
