Been awhile !!!!! Been busy as hell and lazy too !!!! During Thanksgiving my cousins (drums and bass), my teenage daughter (vocals) and I (guitars) did a cover of "Rockin In The Free World". Its rough and our timing is off at some points. But thats fine, it was fun. I did add a second rhythm guitar and lead track during mixing.

Well done bushmaster, nice tracking. I would love my duaghter to have an interest. If your daughter is interested she needs to give less of a shit and express more, it's a bit flat.

Yes she needs to LET IT GO !!! I tell her all the time. She's working on it. Away from the mic she is fine. In front of it she gets shy.

on this track, your daughter's voice reminds me of kim gordon from sonic youth, who doesn't use a lot of range (or even sing in key at times). i've always like the sound of her voice because even though it is far from perfect, her delivery within their music is quite suitable. i like your daughter's delivery in the verse parts of this song. the chorus is just asking to be a little more open. and it's hard to go wrong with a neil young song. i've been wanting to cover "heart of gold" but haven't got around to it yet.

True enough, make sure you post again when she cuts loose :D

Yeah, nice capture of a famjam.
She does need to loosen up doesn't she.

Maybe I need to threaten her with "Your Grounded If You Dont Sing It With Passion" !!!!

I always say a Neil Young cover is better than a Neil Young original. :D This one is no exception. Love the tones on the guitar. I like the drums, too. Good capture.

Kudos to your daughter. More time in front of the mic and she'll be a pro.

1) It's in a key made for a guy - not a girl. She's below her optimal range and struggling to hit the low range.
2) She's consistently flat which makes me think she can't hear her self properly.
The backup music is good but up that key and try again.
