I'm recording my friend's band. They are fratboy/jazz/jam band/eclectic mix of stuff. Well, we managed to get 4 songs to tape this weekend, and just because i'm having such a good time i put up a quick stereo mixdown that we need to give to their percussionist who hasn't put his tracks on yet.
So this is the performance with all its warts and such. If you have the bandwidth and/or time i would appreciate what you think of the basic tracks, the file is 9.16Mb, 192kbps mp3 and the song is 6:40. I don't even know how it sounds really as i quick-mixed it and burned it to cd with that bassist for the past hour. Its passed midnight and i had the volume pretty damn low. but it seemed pretty represnetative.
I'll be working with them on a fill length cd all semester, we will be mixing these 4 songs in 2 weekends once the percussion is recorded.
I just wanted to add that this is from the master mix on my mixer at 16bit/44khz. I haven't dumped these tracks to the computer yet for mixing. So i guess its also a good way to see the bit depth difference worth answered, if you listen to this mix compared to one in 2 or 3 weeks.
