Really liked Hard to handle...great job mate!!

That's just amazing Rami, to get that full sound with only 3 micsKudos mate!
Again, excellent work!
Thanx, Greg. Yeah, I think the bass might be a little loud on all the tunes. I might get around to re-mixing them one day, but it's good enough for a demo of what we do.
I played in clubs for years and years, so it took a band that was steadily working, not travelling all the time, paid well, and easy to work with for me to get back into it. That's hard to find, but these guys are really cool.
Thanx duder.![]()
Thanx a lot, Nico. I find the less i do to my drums, the better they sound. Until not long ago, I was doing all kinds of stuff like compressing a bit on the way in, EQ'ing, etc... Now I record completely flat and dry, don't do too much post "production", don't EQ or compress as much, and they sound better in my recordings than they ever did. I guess less really is more, if you tune them well, take time with mic placement and get it right at the tracking stage.
And this is with a pair of AKG C1000s for overheads, which everyone insists sound like shit.
Oh yeah...hitting them really fucking hard helps, too.![]()
Thanx a lot!! We have a good time, and I'm glad it shows (I hope) in these recordings.Hey Rami - Hee Haw is right! Hard to Handle made me wanna stand up and shake my groove thang here at work. I don't know the other two tunes, but liked them a lot as well. I prefer your voice over the bass player's, but he's great too.
What can I say? You're a pro. Your band members are pros. It's all excellent. I'm not a huge country fan myself, but if I were local, I'd come check you out all the time! Good music is good music to me, no matter what style.
You rock, my friend.![]()
I've been mixing with that approach too. I've never been able to use compression and such effects properly, so I prefer leaving my drum tracks as dry as possible.
If AKG C1000s sound like shit...my Shure PG81s sound like rhinocerous shit then
I've never been a fan of boutique expensive gear, heck, I record for fun and enjoyment only, and you obtain pro souding results; I guess it's not the gear mate, it's your talent!
Cheers!
