That's just amazing Rami, to get that full sound with only 3 mics:eek: Kudos mate!

Again, excellent work!

Thanx a lot, Nico. I find the less i do to my drums, the better they sound. Until not long ago, I was doing all kinds of stuff like compressing a bit on the way in, EQ'ing, etc... Now I record completely flat and dry, don't do too much post "production", don't EQ or compress as much, and they sound better in my recordings than they ever did. I guess less really is more, if you tune them well, take time with mic placement and get it right at the tracking stage.

And this is with a pair of AKG C1000s for overheads, which everyone insists sound like shit.

Oh yeah...hitting them really fucking hard helps, too. :D

First of all....I am just amazed that there is a Canadian country band:eek: You guys sound pretty good and its really all about having fun, if you're cool with it then let it be......Loose the hat man...it ain't you:D

Seriously........sounds good, have fun and make a few extra bucks......or whatever it is that you canuckistans use for currency:D

Really nice vocal and drumming on Hard To Handle, Ram... Umm. Jesse... :D

Excellent Rami - nice blend of rock and country. Mix is good for me. Glad to hear that you're keeping live music alive out there in the land of Guitar Hero and Karaoke....

Yeehaa, Jesse! :D
This is a fine example that a great musician can adapt himself to different styles and still have lotsa fun...I listened to "Shirt" and I really think it's great! Lovely voice and just the right style. I'll bet it's real fun at your gigs! Nothing to say about the recording, sounds perfect to me. Nice! ;)
Now I'll listen to the other songs...

Joe :):):):)

Some really nice tracks there. Hard to Handle is smooooth. Nicely mixed and really tight.

Thanx, Greg. Yeah, I think the bass might be a little loud on all the tunes. I might get around to re-mixing them one day, but it's good enough for a demo of what we do.

I played in clubs for years and years, so it took a band that was steadily working, not travelling all the time, paid well, and easy to work with for me to get back into it. That's hard to find, but these guys are really cool.

Thanx duder.

Nice stuff Rami! You pretty well nailed the vocal on 'Hard to Handle'-it sounded very much like the Black Crows version, though Jeb sounded a bit uncertain on 'Tempted'-he definitely sounded great on the Keith Urban tune. I believe you people are gonna do very good!

I played with lots of bands over the last 30 some years and I'm pretty choosey about them anymore-it's great to find one thats already established and has the gear and a similar focus of what the band is about. Best of luck!

Hey guys,

Missed a few posts here. I really appreciate all the comments. This is a fun project, and I think these guys are good musicians and great to work with. One thing you can't buy is experience and it's great to be playing with guys like that. There's no drama or egos getting in the way of making money and having fun, which is great.

Hey Rami - Hee Haw is right! Hard to Handle made me wanna stand up and shake my groove thang here at work. I don't know the other two tunes, but liked them a lot as well. I prefer your voice over the bass player's, but he's great too.

What can I say? You're a pro. Your band members are pros. It's all excellent. I'm not a huge country fan myself, but if I were local, I'd come check you out all the time! Good music is good music to me, no matter what style.

You rock, my friend. :p

I've been mixing with that approach too. I've never been able to use compression and such effects properly, so I prefer leaving my drum tracks as dry as possible.

If AKG C1000s sound like shit...my Shure PG81s sound like rhinocerous shit then:D

I've never been a fan of boutique expensive gear, heck, I record for fun and enjoyment only, and you obtain pro souding results; I guess it's not the gear mate, it's your talent!

Cheers!

Thanx a lot!! We have a good time, and I'm glad it shows (I hope) in these recordings.

Playing certain styles of music is a lot different than listening to them, in my opinion. I never even heard the majority of tunes we're playing, and still would never listen to them for enjoyment. But when you're playing, it's a lot different. Especially when you see a dance floor getting packed and you have the energy of the other musicians and the crowd to go along with it.

Thanx for the kind words.

Thanx again, Nico. I certainly would love to have top of the line gear. But you have to go with what you got and make the best of it.
