With the USB connection, is it possible to take the tracks an import it to a computer? As you stated, this could make good porta-studio for live recording.

Just looked it up and yes you can, FAT 16 and 32 format. Might look in to picking one up to enhance my options.

Yep, and me growing up on total analog workflow (recorder, mixer, outboard effects,compressor/limiters,cables etc etc) has made the transtition to 2488 NEO/KMII and its workflow (without feeling intimidated) to digital much easier than straight to DAW. And yes I do like the idea of a USB port on it and also MIDI and MTC !!!

I've got one of those Apex 205's as well (I also took out the extra junk inside). Great mic! Reminds me I need to use it more...

Tbh it wasn't until listening to Bruce Swedien clips on the royer website that i really got stuck in and started playing with it some more. Over the past month it's had a lot of use on percussion, backing vocals (works really well to help backing vocals sit behind a lead vocal recorded with an LDC), hand claps, and on a bass amp. I was given a Fame "Classic" Ribbon (which, again, gets rebranded a shed load, i think it's the Nady RSM-4) for my birthday in February and that's seen a lot of use on guitar amps trying to finish my bands album and it just adds some real weight to the bottom end of the tones when combined with an SM57.

I now want more ribbon mics! The sEX1R is now very very high on my list after the price dropped massively and only a few online stores still stock them. I really don't want to miss out and then end up fighting on evilbay to pick up a used one which happened with an sE Titan earlier this year. The price was quite high to start and i thought "meh, it's ok, we picked one up new for £259 and i'd rather have a new one anyway" until it turned out the only place that stocked it no longer sells them and this evilbay listing was the only one available. Needless to say i lost and it went for just over £220 and this thing had seen better days!
