Be real. For one, it's not your music. Two, you just posted the link like two pages ago, so it's not really 12 pages.

I posted the link in the first post. I took it down because I no longer cared what you thought... Are you saying if you record music and you didnt write it it's not your music? holy shit...

Can you hear how dumb of a comment that is? "Those guys recorded the way records were done back then." How the fuck else could they record? The way records weren't recorded back then? Duh. Is this the advice you give around here? You said Nat King Cole and Elvis records sound the same as Eddie Cochran records. How can I respect your opinion now???? Seriously?

You said they did it wrong, and that's inherently wrong all on it's own. I don't know how to simplify it any further for you. You don't have to respect my opinion. I'd rather you didn't. I don't need people like you on my side. Especially after seeing this on your facebook page:

"Just FYI... The Atomic Raygun use Gretsch Guitars, Line 6 effects and Pearlman Mics"

Line 6 huh? How very fucking rockabilly of you. :laughings:

You took it down because you got your feelings hurt.

It's not your music. Did you write it? Do you own it? No to both. You just do covers. It's not yours. I'm not knocking covers. I like them sometimes. I just did one recently myself. I'm not calling it mine. It's not my song. I just covered it.

Do you honestly believe that Carl Perkins or Eddie Cochran records sound as good as Nat King Cole or Elvis Presley records??? They're re-releasing Elvis and Nat in DSD...not Eddie Cochran.

You poor generic clueless....whatever gender you are.

Nat King Cole and Elvis enjoy something like a 1,000,000:1 popularity ratio over Eddie Cochran. There's no money to be made in re-releasing digital streams of 20 Flight Rock or Sitting in the Balcony..

How many pros use Line 6...oh my god....

Personally I believe the originals sound better to any digitally remastered re-release. And even better in the medium they were intended to be listened on. Vinyl. Hence my insane vinyl collection of music from the 30's onwards. I never knew I was wasting money as they were all recorded wrong.....and now don't understand why so many artists try to replicate that sound. You solved it for me.

Seriously, do you read what you write or just spout absolute bullshit constantly?

I don't know how many pros use that stuff, but how many rockabilly legends used it? You're neither.

Look, I'm not a gear snob at all, but your Line 6 effects and solid state Marshall amp don't scream "rockabilly" or "pro" anything.

Not at all. If you were playing modern screamo-emo-core I wouldn't care at all about your Line 6 gear and solid state budget amp. I saw what looks like a Marshall MG in your facebook pics. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Is that what you used? If so, tsk tsk. Not very rockabilly, dude, and it could explain why your guitar tracks sound so cold and un-rockabilly. They're not terrible by any means, but hanging a delay and reverb all over everything doesn't automatically make it "rockabilly". They could be a lot warmer and "vintage" sounding with better gear more suited for the task. ..

Ok, so start where I misread something. Please correct me if I've said something wrong. I'm just going by the pics on your own page and the sounds you posted.

Well that's why I asked. I'm supposed to read your mind? I saw the pics, and asked. Where's the harm in that? So what amp did you use?

I'm not. Unwritten rules upset me greatly. They're very unprofessional.
.

speaking of unprofessional .....acting like a little douche because people told you what the general consensus is around here comes to mind.
No one insulted this guy, and he still went on an immediate attack and tirade. Totally insecure.

yep ........ and he is just another guy so caught up in his righteous indignation that he sees nothing but how right he is and how terribly wrong everyone else is.

yep ..... Everybody else is wrong and he's Mr. Perfection ... lol ...... if you're gonna start with insults the very second anyone says anything you're gonna get insulted in return.
Just another soon to be banned idiot.
:laughings:

Welcome to reality. Society is based on rules and has been since before writing. Deal with it. And look up "reciprocity" while you're at it.

They're very unprofessional.

This is a "home" recording forum. Professionalism is optional. Politeness, however, is reciprocated.

The thread title's 'My Band's New Record', but I think the title belongs to this thread rather than the recording. Over a 1000 views in less than 12 hours? Now *that* is a record!

I learned stuff about recording in the back and forth between Greg and Carmen, too. It's a pity you can't actually rig a thread like this once in a while. They just happen. 'When Carmen's thread went viral.'

Men use them on women to keep them down and unequal.
Bullies use them.

This thread is well funny but this comment was the best.

You give a little...you take a little. It's the rule on this forum and it's been an excellent rule for a peaceful and good existence on this planet since before we were all born. It's been around for so long, I didn't really think anyone needed it to be written down as a 'rule' anymore. It has absolutely nothing to do with unwritten rules created by men to oppress females.

Since I try to practice what I preach and you gave me feedback on my song...I think your tunes sound pretty good. Unfortunately, I don't know the originals, but I think you did a good job on the mixing. I'm a beginner, so I don't know much about recording nor do I know this genre very well so you'll have to take what I say with a pinch of salt. That's not an underhanded compliment by the way, I do genuinely like what I heard.

I have been around on this forum long enough to know Greg nails this kind of music, and he knows a shit load about recording. So, personally, I wouldn't discard his comments or advice.
