I would suggest the V67i over the v67g if you can afford it. I had a v67i and sold it for money towards an M-audio sputnik.
Well, about a week with the sputnik and I sold it and bought the v67i back. The sputnik definitely sounded good and luxurious, but it didn't suit my voice I think - and that is what buying a mic is all about.
The v67i gives you the two capsules, and I often find myself using the bright one when I'm recording laid back airy vocals, and switching it to the warm when the high energy rock vocals come in (my voice becomes more edgy and sibilant).
I've really gotten good results with the v67i. It's also wired with Mogami, whereas I'm not entirely sure the mxl9090 is.
