Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone here has tried an MXL V67 on a piano. How were the results? I know the V67 is usually regarded as a vocal mic, and I have heard samples of it on acoustic guitars.

I know most would say a SD condensor would be the way to go for piano, but I have an MXL V67 coming on the way, and I am wondering if I should get a second one for the purpose of recording a piano (I can get a second one for a pretty good deal right now for a limited time).

Any thoughts? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Maybe voice and piano only. In a mix I wouldn't think so, but I have not tried it.

I would wait till I tried the first one on piano before I bought the other one.
What are you going to save or lose maybe 10.00 bucks if you have to wait for a week or two till you find out?
Better to try one before you end up with two mics you dont like instead of just one.

True

That's very true - I wouldn't be losing too much in the whole scheme of things if I wait a little while. I'm a college student though, and every penny sorta counts. But yeah, maybe I'll wait and try it out first before I decide what to do.

Any other thoughts - thanks for the feedback so far.

Craig
