Those look pretty good! :)

I'll see if I can turn them into a few nice wallpaper shots for the gang!

One question though. The color of the cabinet; Is it a light cream color like the first pictures you posted or more yellowish, as these shots are? I can fix that, either way as long as I know what the real color is.

Cheers! :)

The visible pictures in this thread...the couple of close-ups...that is the real color.
I guess it's a cream/light beige color...dirty white.

My studio has halogen track lighting with a variety of colored gels...so depending on the angle, without a flash, you might see all kinds of color shades reflecting of the equipment, especially something that is light colored like the MX-80.
The only time there is an abundance of bright, natural light...is early in the morning when the sun is tracking across the studio windows.
I ain't getting up early just to take the pictures without the halogen lights on. ;)

Yeah, I didn't realize about the room lighting you had down there. Your camera's flash will actually be the better route to take as that will produce more accurate color and less shadows then your room lights.

Cheers! :)

I did process one of the shots but the detail is pretty fuzzy unfortunately.

I know it's not super crisp/clean like you want it...but that ain't bad the way it looks after you processed it.

We have high-end cameras at work (publications department)....if I can borrow one, I'll retake a few more for you, but I think that's the best my little Kodak is going to pull off.
Maybe if can get a bright day, and turn on all the lights plus the flash...I might get more detail/sharpness.

Your Kodak is limited, true, but it can take better shots with the flash, just as your first shots at the top of the thread are reasonable. Just re-shoot those shots with the flash on and things should improve regardless of the lighting in the room.

Cheers! :)

These all look real nice, I got no complaints! :drunk:
Do you still want me to take more with the flash?
I had some other stuff to do all day yesterday, but I can do them today if you still want them.

Yes!!!

Take some with the flash, please. The one's I've done so far have made use of obscene amounts of digital hamburger helper and I'd love to have some cleaner files to work with.

Cheers! :)

Wallpaper #2 is just . . . stunning !

I'm glad, in a small way, that the machine isn't mine. . .

I'd be stressing over the recordings to make sure they live up to those photos. . .

First I tired just doing touch-ups on the scratches. Got some white and beige appliance paints, mixed a bunch of batches, but couldn't nail the right color...so the touch-ups looked like some disease. :D

I then tried to find spray enamel that would match, but no luck. I'm sure if I went to an auto body shop I could get them to mix a large batch...but then, how to apply it? I didn't want to haul the deck out of my studio, as it was a bitch getting it in there...down some stairs....and I certainly didn't want to spray paint in the studio.

Then I was at Home Depot one day asking what I could do to get the match plus an easy/safe way to paint it...the kid said he could mix me a batch of outdoor latex, meant for metal...that would be 99% close to the original. I brought in a piece of panel and he was able to scan it into the compute and he certainly nailed the color! I got some top-shelf Bear semi-gloss paint that was pre-mixed with a primer...shit was like pancake batter... :) ....and he suggested using a small foam roller.

Worked out pretty good. Yeah, if the light hits the large sides just right, you can see that it is not as perfect as it would have been sprayed on....but it's like 150% better looking than it was with all the small scratches/scuffs. I didn't paint the front face with all the silk-screened text for the channel cards (and the front had no scuffs anyway)...and I didn't paint the narrow front/top panel where there is the silk-screened legend for the tape path. When you look at the painted and non-painted panels...you can't see any difference in the color at all...and the texture is almost the same.

Hey miroslav, if you don't mind me asking, what mixer do you use with that beautiful multitrack?
