I'm trying to get a decent tone off a guitar that haven't recorded before. It's a Schecter USA Sunset 7 with a Rio Grande Muy Grande humbucker. I'd appreciate any feedback.
your tone is killer! and that is some great jazz playing. what kind
of amp? man i wish i could make a solo piece sound that musical!
i almost blew a nut on my knee cap!(sorry now i am going a little overboard!)LOL. tim
the playing was pretty sweet, but the recording sounded a bit dull and very compressed.. I've heard some nice jazz tones from Tom Hicks and a few others, but this had a Pod sound to me.. nice playing..
I think the jazz tone on your guitar is perfect. It would probably sound a lot better if the bass weren't muddying up the mix. The mix needs some highs, (like from another element like a shaker or soemthing), and it is WAY overcompressed...You can hear it physically breathing in some spots, but you asked about the git tone, and I have no complaints whatsoever about that.
the tone is very nice.......there is a slight buzz (maybe pick up noise??) that takes place kind of in between the notes that you might want to watch out for.........other than that, it sounds ok........i agree that a tad less compression might be more suitable, but it sounds good as is to me

The sound seems a bit narrow to me. I guess you'd want a dull tone for this kind of song but it still seems kinda lacklustre. I'd set the high rolloff at more like 10k.
I like the idea of filling the highs with another element.
