the "monster" people will still try to tell you that the premium cables are more durable, long lasting, etc. But what's more durable than a hanger wire?
I gave in ONCE to the hype about 10 years ago and had all monster cables in my guitar signal chain. I coulda had an all-tube amp! what a racket!

When I bought a hi-def LCD TV a few months back, the electronics store salesmen tried to stick a Monster Cable HDMI cable in the bag - they wanted something like $65 for the damned thing. I told the salesman no thanks!
